April is the fourth month of the year and is the most critical month. The month of April starts with laughter and jokes. April Fool’s Day and Odisha Day are celebrated on 1st April. There are many essential days, including International Children’s Book Day on 2 April, World Health Day on 7 April, Ambedkar Jayanti on 14 April, Civil Services Day on 21 April, Earth Day on 22 April, and National Panchayat Day on 24 April. This month holds special significance in Hinduism. 

Because Chaitra Navratri starts this month and Hindu New Year begins from Chaitra Navratri itself. Big festivals like Sheetla Ashtami and Hanuman Jayanti also come in April. Apart from these fasting festivals, many essential days in April are considered necessary in India and the world, so let’s know the critical days, feasts, and celebrations of April.

April 1: Odisha Day

Odisha Foundation Day is celebrated on 1st April. Who made Odisha an independent province on 1 April 1936. In January 1949, all the princely states of Odisha merged with the state of Odisha under the Order 1949 merger of princely states.

Odisha has many ancient names like Kalinga, Utkal, and Udara, but the state is mainly famous for the land of Lord Jagannath. The people of Odisha were influenced by Jain, Christian, and Islam religions at different times.

April 2: World Autism Awareness Day

The United Nations General Assembly announced April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day in 2007. On this day, steps are taken to work on the existence of kids and grown-ups who have a mental imbalance, and they are assisted with having a meaningful presence. Blue is viewed as an image of mental imbalance.

April 3 (Sunday) – Chaiti Chand

The Sindhi New Year begins with Chaitra Shukla Dwitiya. Chaitra month is called Cheat in Sindhi and Chandu to Moon. Hence Chetichand means the moon of Chaitra.

April 4: International Day for Mine Awareness

The International Day of Mine Awareness and Mine Action Support of the United Nations is observed on 4 April every year. On 8 December 2005, the General Assembly announced that 4 April each year would be regarded as the International Day for Mine Awareness and Mine Work Support. On 4 April 2006 It was first celebrated.

April 5: National Maritime Day

7 April: World Health Day

The World Health Organization (WHO) is an organization for cooperation and developing standards on health-related problems of the world’s countries. The World Health Organization has 193 member states and two affiliated members. This association was laid out on seventh April 1948. To that end, consistently, 7 April is praised as World Health Day.

April 10: World Homeopathy Day 

World Homeopathy Day is celebrated each year on 10 April. German-born Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, considered the father of homeopathy, was born on April 10.

April 11: National Safe Motherhood Day

In 2003, the Government of India declared 11 April every year to be observed as National Safe Motherhood Day.

April 13: Jallianwala Bagh Massacre

The Jallianwala Bagh massacre occurred on 13 April 1919 (Baisakhi day) at Jallianwala Bagh near the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab, India. This event is believed to be the beginning of British rule in India. In 1997, Queen Elizabeth paid tribute to the dead at this memorial.

April 17: World Hemophilia Day

April 18: World Heritage Day

April 19: World Liver Day

World Liver Day is noticed each year on 19 April, and its point is to spread mindfulness about liver sicknesses on the planet. The liver’s primary functions are fighting diseases, preventing infection, removing toxins from the body, removing cholesterol, etc.

April 21: National Civil Services Day

The Government of India has observed 21 April every year since 2006 as ‘Civil Services Day’ as an opportunity for civil servants to rededicate themselves to the cause of citizens and to re-emerge their commitment to excellence in civil service and work.

April 22: World Earth Day

Earth Day is a yearly occasion hung on 22 April to support natural assurance. The significance of Earth Day is significant because, on this day, we get to be familiar with the effect of an Earth-wide temperature boost on the climate through hippies.

April 23: World Book and Copyright Day

World Book and Copyright Day were formally launched on 23 April 1995 by UNESCO, an organization of 193 member countries and six associate members, inspired by the spirit of high-purpose international cooperation and development. … the date of birth and death of William Shakespeare was also 23 April.

April 24: National Panchayati Raj Day

National Panchayati Raj Day is the National Day of the Panchayati Raj System in India which is celebrated annually on 24 April by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. He mentioned that if the Panchayati Raj Institutions functioned properly and local people participated in the development process, who could counter the Maoist menace.

April 25: World Malaria Day

For the first time, ‘World Malaria Day was observed on 25 April 2008. The purpose of celebrating this day by UNICEF was to bring public attention to a dangerous disease like malaria, which kills millions of people every year. In developing countries, malaria comes as a death message for many patients.

April 26: World Intellectual Property Day

It aims to raise awareness of the impact of copyrights, patents, designs, and trademarks on daily life. Why only 26 April? 26 April is observed as World Intellectual Property Day as the “Convention to establish the World Intellectual Property Organization” came into force today.

April 27: World Veterinary Day

World Veterinary Day (English: World Veterinary Day) is celebrated every year on the last Saturday of April. In 2022, this day will be celebrated on the previous Saturday, April 30. The primary purpose of celebrating this day is to discuss medicines related to diseases of animals and to make people aware of them.

April 28: World Day for Safety 

Why is this day celebrated? World Day of Safety and Health at Work mainly spreads the prevention of accidents and diseases at the workplace. It is an awareness program under which people talk about avoiding various diseases and accidents at the workplace.

April 29: International Dance Day

International Dance Day started on 29 April 1982. This day is celebrated as International Dance Day in memory of the birth of a great reformer Jean-Georges Navarre. The purpose of celebrating International Dance Day worldwide was to create awareness among the general public about the importance of dance.

30 April: Ayushman Bharat Day

Today, i.e., on 30th April, Ayushman Bharat Day is being organized in the country. The objective of organizing this day is to promote affordable medical facilities even in remote areas of the country based on the socio-economic caste census database. It is the world’s largest health scheme run by the central government.
