At the age of 27, Lisa Nicholas had an eight month old baby, their husband in jail, $11.42 in her bank account, and lived on government assistance.
“I was willing to complete due to any form of me that I have been, to be the woman I wanted to be,” she said while remembering how helpless she felt when she didn’t even have enough money to buy diapers for her child and promised her son that they’ll never be broke again.
Born on 18 May 1966 in Los Angeles, California, USA Lisa was below average student getting a max of ‘c-’ as her grades. She was told to never write about something or be involved in public speaking. She always believed she will grow out of that neighbourhood and be successful but never really felt the urge so desperately until she hit the rock bottom in her life. This time made her realize that no one was going to help her, she’ll have to be her own rescue.
This is where she started to unlearn everything negative that she had been told, every excuse that she could find to blame her condition upon. She decided and worked hard to get her and her son out of their misery and stayed committed to it.
She took a job at the Family Resource Center for the LA Unified School District. She wanted to save some money to fund the dream that she had not decided on yet but knew was going to take some kind of investment. So she used to mail cheques of a small amount to her Bank every two weeks but never looked at any of the account statements to check her balance. After 3 years when she finally went to the bank and asked for her account balance which she found out to be $62,000 Plus.
With this money, she started a program called” motivating the teen spirit “Where she helped children make better decisions for their life at a young age. To improve her skills she attended a lot of conferences and seminars and later started giving motivational and transformational speeches at the same and started getting paid for it.
She was also featured in the bestselling book “The Secret” Where she talks about how the law of attraction can help us to attract positivity and growth in our personal as well as professional life.
Fast forward to today Lisa Nicholas – 52 years old is the Founder and CEO of a company called “Motivating the Masses” where she shares her experience of life and the tools that she used to uplift herself, keep herself motivated every single day, and stay committed and focused towards what she wanted to achieve.
