India is a prosperous country in culture, and numerous celebrations are commended here. There are 11 public occasions consistently. However, only May Day is a statutory holiday in India; The entitlement to other paid holidays and working conditions on India’s national holidays are employer-employee agreements. Most of India’s holidays apply throughout the country. However, two regions (Alsace and Lorraine) retained these two additional public holidays when the East German region joined India.

March 1 – World Civil Security Day

March 1 is celebrated as World Civil Defense Day, which was created in 1990 by the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) to commemorate the establishment of its constitution. It is a global effort to protect the citizens of a state from military attacks and natural disasters. One of the main objectives of World Civil Defense Day is to increase the vital importance of civil defense and also to focus on preparedness, prevention, and self-protection measures in the event of disasters and accidents.

March 3 – World Wildlife Day

On 20 December 2013, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declared 3 March, marking the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna World’s wild creatures and plants, albeit in certain spots known as World Nature Conservation Day.

March 4 – National Safety Day

National Safety Day is celebrated on 4 March to commemorate the foundation day of the National Security Council of India. The Ministry of Labour, Government of India, established the Indian National Safety Council (NSC) on 4 March 1966. It is a national movement carried out annually to prevent and reduce health hazards, loss of life, and financial loss by providing security: Health and environmental support services. March 4th, every year, marks the beginning of National Security Week in India.

March 8 – International Women’s Day

Every year 8 March is celebrated as International Women’s Day (IWD). The creation of IWD was inspired by the deliberate decision to set up a special event to fight for women’s rights around the world. It is a day set aside for women and girls who represent half the world’s population and half its potential. Respect women’s achievements, raise awareness against prejudice, promote gender equality and take action for equality.

March 10 – CISF Foundation Day

Raising Day of Central Industrial Security Force is commended each year on tenth March. The Central Industrial Security Force works under the Ministry of Home Affairs, which laid it out in 1969 under the CISF Act, 1968.

March 14 – International Day of Action for Rivers

International Action Day for Rivers is a day to celebrate victories such as dam removal and river restoration. It is a day to educate each other about the dangers facing our rivers and better water and energy solutions. Every year on March 14, thousands of people gather worldwide to celebrate the world’s rivers and those who fight to protect them. Above all, it is a day to unite – by acting together, and we demonstrate this day formerly known as the International Day Against Dams for Rivers, Water, and Life.

March 15 – World Consumer Rights Day

In 1962, on March 15, US President John F. Kennedy addressed the US Congress on four fundamental consumer rights, later called the Consumer Rights Bill. 

He was the first world leader to address consumer rights, the day of his speech is celebrated as World Consumer Rights Day. Every year 24 December is celebrated in India as National Consumer Day, and America goes on about four fundamental consumer rights.

16 March – National Immunization Day

National Immunization Day has been celebrated on 16 March since 1995. This was when who implemented the first polio eradication program in the country. 

On this day, medical representatives travel across the country to administer two polio drops. To mark this historic day, the Government of India decided to observe this day as National Immunization Day. 

The main objective of celebrating this day is to make people aware of polio vaccination and to eliminate it from the world. In March 2014, India was declared polio-free by WHO.

March 17 – Vinayaka Chaturthi

Vinayaka Chaturthi is on Thursday, March 17, 2022. There are two Chaturthi every month. In this way, there are 24 Chaturthi, and after every three years, there are 26 Chaturthi of Adhimaasa. The Chaturthi after Amavasya is called Vinayaka Chaturthi, and the Chaturthi after Purnima is called Sankashti Chaturthi.

If Chaturthi falls on Thursday, then death occurs, and Saturday’s Chaturthi is Siddhida, and the fault of Chaturthi being ’empty’ is almost eliminated in that particular situation. 

The direction of Chaturthi Tithi is southeast. The deity of Chaturthi (Chauth) is Shivaputra Ganesha. This is an open date called the ‘space cognition .’Therefore, optimistic works are prohibited in it. 

March 18 – Ordnance Manufacturing Day

Ordnance Manufacturing Day is celebrated every year in India on 18 March.

20 March – World Sparrow Day

World Sparrow Day is celebrated worldwide on 20th March with pomp. Celebrate this day to spread awareness about the conservation of sparrows. This day is praised for spreading the love for sparrows, for making mindfulness of their significance in our lives.

21 March – World Forestry Day

World Forestry Day is celebrated internationally on 21 March every year to spread public awareness about the importance of trees. To preserve the forests, in the year 1971, at the 23rd General Meeting of the European Agricultural Organization, who decided to celebrate 21 March every year as ‘World Forestry Day.

21 March – World Down Syndrome Day

World Down Syndrome Day is observed every year on 21 March to raise public awareness for the global rights, inclusion, and welfare of people with Down syndrome. This year, the topic of World Down Syndrome Day is “We Decide.”

22 March – World Water Day

To end this water war and reduce its impact, the United Nations, in its session of 1992, decided to celebrate 22 March as World Water Day. On which, for the first time in 1993, on 22 March worldwide. On Water Day, who did work to spread awareness on the conservation and maintenance of water.

23rd March – World Meteorological Day

World Meteorological Day is celebrated every year on 23 March by the World Meteorological Organization. The theme of this year is ‘Ocean, Climate, and Weather.’

24 March – World Tuberculosis (TB) Day

24 March is known as World TB Day. On this day, many programs related to TB are run every year under the auspices of the World Health Organization (WHO), which aims to make people aware of this global disease and eliminate it.

27 March – World Theatre Day

World Theater Day is organized every year on 27 March, and the International Theater Institute laid the foundation of this day in the year 1961 to give theater its distinct identity worldwide. On this day, in many countries, theater or theater artists organize many functions at the national and international levels.
